Individuals with slow cognitive processing may need additional time to understand information, respond to questions, and manage emotional stress. During moments of frustration or crisis, fast-paced communication, overstimulation, or multiple demands at once can increase confusion and emotional escalation. Effective de-escalation requires patience, calm communication, and an understanding that processing delays are not defiance or lack of engagement.

This training focuses on recognizing signs of overwhelm, adapting communication styles, and using supportive interventions that promote safety, trust, and emotional regulation. Participants will learn how to slow interactions down, provide clear and simple guidance, and create a calm environment that supports understanding and connection.
